How’s your soul doing?
We all face daily battles against a relentless foe - who is first and foremost after our souls. Second to that, the king of darkness is bent on keeping us from fulfilling our purpose. He’s the king of lies and his language is manipulation and deceit. He often uses others to strike at our heart; and his tactics are to steal, kill, and destroy.
Some of us are wading through a season where it feels like our heads are barely above water. The pain can feel unbearable. Let’s face it, some days, our souls can feel so heavy that the option to just give up, rather than to fight through it, seems all too appealing.
Even though deep within our hearts we may know that we’re on the side of victory, some seasons the battle is so thick it’s all we can do to cling to the Truth that God is still on the throne, and therefore still in control.
“We are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” – Ephesians 6:12
As we grasp hold of this truth and breath-in God’s strength to keep fighting, we must remove the human face from our pain, to reveal that the originator of it all is satan himself. While we may not understand it, and don’t have all the answers to why we’re walking through a season of pain, it’s key to remember who our real enemy is.
In the midst of waiting for God to move.
For God to heal.
For God to speak.
There’s something so powerful about worshipping Him through the pain.
Declaring His goodness.
Singing He’s worthy - despite our feelings.
Praising regardless of our circumstance.
Remembering, claiming, and holding onto His promises.
As we wait expectantly for God to move, our souls can remain confident that we “will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” (Psalm 27:13)
And we worship regardless.
And it replenishes our soul.
