Words of Promise

“For no word from God will ever fail.” – Luke 1:37

That’s a pretty powerful statement, isn’t it?!

These words were spoken by the angel, Gabriel, as he delivered the news to Mary that she was going to have a son, who was the promised Messiah that all of Israel had long-awaited for. And it’s almost as if Gabriel – the messenger of God – wanted to leave Mary with confident hope, as he ends with the promise that “no word from God will ever fail.”

If they don’t ever fail… that means they won’t fail HER.

And they didn’t.

And they won’t fail us either.

Jesus Himself said that, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” – Matthew 24:38. This means that His words have eternal power. His words aren’t bound to time, and we can claim them to be true in our own lives.

And if we live by His words, and His words reside in us… we will not fail at accomplishing what He’s called us to do. Doesn’t that give you such hope? We can hold on to that confident hope that what He’s spoke over us, will prevail. It will not expire. We can hold on to His promises and blessings and walk in the path He’s laid out for us!

“God is within her, she will not fail.” – Psalm 46:5

Let’s personalize that today:

God is within me, I will not fail. I declare that His words hold dominion over my heart, mind, soul, strength and tongue. His words never fail, so I will trust them, submit to them, and find joy in them. Thank you, Father! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
