Unforced Rhythms of Grace

Are you tired?

Worn out?

Burned out on religion?

I think everyone can relate to at least one of those three questions. If not in your present circumstance - you likely can remember a time when you answered yes to a season of tiredness. Being worn out. Or burned out.

I’ve learned that regardless of where you are on your journey, there is always a pathway at each turn that leads to the beautiful passage of God’s grace. No matter the state of our physical bodies… regardless of the energy level that we have. No matter what we’ve brought on ourselves… or what’s been done to us.

There is always relief available to us.

We can be in a season where we’re so deep in the “thick” of it, feeling like we can barely catch our breath, and yet there’s relief we can grasp on to.

For God’s grace leads us to rest.

Jesus offers an open invitation to come to Him. To get away and experience real rest. Allowing Him to speak to us and silencing all other voices. Binding up our hearts and inhaling fresh life into our worn-down body that feels overworked, possibly resulting in a state of utter exhaustion. Or maybe you’re not quite there yet, but you’re nonetheless trying to do life in your own strength. Trying to attain a conduct of rightness and admirable virtue.

The rhythm of His grace is never forced. It’s our choice to rest in His presence. To allow Him to show us, through His Spirit, how to truly live - discovering His pace for our life. To truly rest. To breathe in the abundance of His grace and walk aligned with Him, full of great joy.

For His yoke is easy to bear and His burden light.

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?

Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me – watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” – Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)

Aligning ourselves to Jesus with each step that we take.

Allowing Him to satisfy our deepest ache.

What a beautiful life we’ll embrace.

Moving in the rhythm of His grace.
