The Greatest Gift

What’s been the best gift that you’ve opened? Is there something that instantly comes to your mind? Maybe a memory from your childhood, or when someone completely surprised you, leaving you overcome with emotion.

Or what about giving someone a gift? Have you had the great joy of giving a gift to someone and watching as they open it up and their reaction is full of an outburst of joy and gratitude?

I love memories like that… because I think it’s in those moments, we get a glimpse into how God the Father felt sending us His Son to earth as our Saviour. The Gift of Grace wrapped up in a bundle of Joy that came to earth over 2,000 years ago, but His Grace and Joy still overflows with emotions for all that know Him. His Grace isn’t bound by time or seasons. His Joy isn’t confined to the moment of conversion but wants to pour out on us daily.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”– Ephesians 2:8

This gift isn’t just about the impact that it ONCE HAD in our lives, but the impact it continues to have. The Gift that we’re each offered is a gift of abundant life… that starts the moment we believe that Jesus is Who He said He was, and that He died and rose again for each one of us.

The abundance of this gift has no end. It begins with saving us. Giving us the Gift of His Presence. Filling us with His Peace. Love. Joy. His gift heals. Restores. Prunes and grows us. Building confidence in us, that the gift of Him in us, will make the impossible possible.

Let’s start our week off meditating on the Gift that came… and how He continues to provide and bless us this very day by all that He has done for us. The Gift that keeps on giving - abundant life for the here and now, and for all eternity to come.
