The Focus of His Love

“How blessed is God! And what a blessing He is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in Him. Long before He laid down earth’s foundation, He had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of His love, to be made whole and holy by His love. Long, long ago He decided to adopt us into His family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure He took in planning this!). He wanted us to enter into the celebration of His lavish gift-giving by the hand of His beloved Son.” – Ephesians 1:3-6 (Msg)

My heart swells with emotion over the great depths of God’s love. God stood before creation, before He spoke any of it into being, and He thought of each one of us. He poured His focus into the men and women who He already planned would be made in His image. His love would be offered to us freely, not forced for us to receive it, rather we’d be given a choice to have communion with our Creator – the very One Who knows the way to abundant life.

Loved.

Chosen.

Adopted into His family.

He’s given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms for those who would receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour – the only Way to wholeness and holiness.

Oh the vastness of His love! If only we could come to comprehend all the ways He’s purposed to love us, in pursuit for us to know a life that is full of His blessings and lavished gift-giving. A love that will never perish, spoil or fade.

How could we not praise Him for all He’s done for us? How could our minds not submit to such a love? How could our tongues not speak of His glory?

“May you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” – Ephesians 3:18-19

Responsive Prayer

“Father, may I never get over the radical ways that You have made me the focus of Your love. Help me to understand how wide, how long, how high and how deep Your love is for me. I never want to become apathetic to the beauty and majesty of Your great kindness in sending Jesus to earth to be my Saviour, so that I could be given a way back to You. May my life bring You praises every day and be a reflection of the love that You’ve shown me. In Jesus name, amen.”
