Tearing Down the Lies

“The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way – never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the Truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.”

– 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (Msg)

Our great enemy has been working hard at corrupting every culture, every generation since the Garden. The tactics he uses haven’t changed – he’s still marketing another version of truth to the world, then that of which he knows is Truth. If he can blind humanity into believing that we can be our own god, then he’s achieved his desire to turn creation away from worshipping their Creator.

The only way to combat such a corrupt culture is to cling to the Truth – The Word and the Spirit – and to allow the Truth to unveil our eyes of the deception. We tear down the lies by exposing them. We capture every thought, insisting that it bow in obedience to the name of Jesus. We take ground against the enemy, with our spiritual armour that knocks down the powers, principalities, and rulers of darkness in the heavenly places. (ref. Eph.6:12). It’s by the blood of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit in us that we will continue to stand and stay standing against all lies that are thrown our way.

So, let’s be asking the Holy Spirit to search our hearts, and reveal to us if there is any place where we’ve believed a lie over that which is Truth. Let’s allow Him to reveal to us that which is almost true from that which is actually True. May we be women who desire discernment and the wisdom of Christ, as we surrender our mind, will and emotions to Him. We must decrease so that He can increase. (ref. John 3:30).

Sweet sisters in Christ, it is the Truth that will set us free! Let us stand on the firm foundation of the One who gave everything so that we could remain free. Amen? Amen!
