“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10
God never leads us on a path where He calls us to do something, He doesn’t equip us for. Although we may not always see it that way. Being His disciple is all about allowing Him to direct us to do the specific Kingdom work that He sees best suited for us. He’s with us all along the way… He never abandons us and is continually at work within us and through us.
Repetition in the scriptures is so interesting to me. Over and over again we’re told to not be afraid. To have courage… It’s almost as though He knew we’d be afraid!
What is it that is causing fear inside you? What’s discouraging you these days?
Each one of us has a calling on our lives. And whether or not we’re afraid to step into it, or we’re already doing it but are eclipsed by fear because we feel ill-equipped, it’s ours to own. The challenges, heartaches, and setbacks that we face, aren’t meant to hinder us from fulfilling our callings, but instead they’re meant to draw us closer to God and our dependency on Him alone. We can be sure that the enemy wants us to cripple to the challenges we’re faced with because he doesn’t want us drawing more people to live their lives in worship of the One true God. It’s with God’s strength and His help that we will venture through to a place where He wants us to be. To flourish after the let-down. To experience new life after the heartache. To produce fruit. Much fruit!
“It is to my Father’s glory that you bear much fruit.” – John 15:8
And all the while His victorious right-hand steadies us through. Let’s be trusting Him for strength and help today and have our eyes open to see where He shows up. Our ears tuned to His whisper and His instructions.
