How are you doing?
How are you really doing?
Can you answer that question honestly?
When blessings seem to be flowing, and all is working out in our favour, or the way we hoped and planned for, it’s so easy to be happy and hold a positive perspective. But let’s face it, not every day is like that. When the reservoir of divine blessing appears to have dried up, and our present or near future situation looks bleak, that’s when we are really faced with walking by faith and not by sight.
The spiritual battle that disciples of Jesus face, is real and very active. And it can be draining to walk through long seasons where there seems to be battle after battle. We can recognize the indicators of us ‘running out of gas’ when our tank of faith seems to be dwindling and our hope is running dry, leaving us with a gloomy outlook. The repercussions of not addressing where we’re actually at, can manifest in many ways – explosions of anger and frustration, outburst of tears, floods of doubt, and a frenzy of emotions. Usually, others around us become the victims to our underlying issues.
If we’re trying to operate in our own strength, we will hit that wall of ‘burn-out’ so quickly. The good news is that we don’t ever have to walk through anything alone.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13
The Spirit of Christ lives in all who follow Jesus and He promises to never leave us. He’s with us each step of the way and it’s by His strength that He enables us to do all things. Even the hard things. Even when circumstances seem exasperating and difficult and maybe even impossible.
As a daughter of the King of Kings, I want to remind you and encourage you to get refueled. We don’t have to run on steam, we can and should be filled by Jesus, His Word and His Spirit, daily. Because of Jesus we are more than capable to keep going, to trust Him in all circumstances and to be equipped and refreshed by the Holy Spirit. In Christ, you can do this!
