Representing Christ

As those who come to know Jesus and receive Him as their Saviour, we’re called to leave behind our old ways of living… all that we once allowed to define us and shape us. We’re called to live as one who has been made right with God.

“Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the Truth that come from Him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God – truly righteous and holy.” – Ephesians 4:21-24 (NLT)

If we’ve truly received the Truth and understand the weight of sin that separated us from our loving Father, our hearts should desire to live for Him, like Jesus - the fulfilment of Love. As we bear His name – Jesus follower – we too should be a representation of such love. We certainly can’t do this in our own strength… it shouldn’t be taken on in a legalistic way, but in a position full of heart surrender. Surrendered lives are lives that lead change, and love like Him. Taking action to seek Him, through His Word and listening to His Spirit, we ground ourselves in Him, allowing Him to work His plans through our lives.

May we be women who take seriously the name that we bear. As a reminder, and for encouragement, may these verses be read as a prayer today, as we venture out representing Christ in our family, in our workplace, amongst our friends and neighbours.

Wherever we go…

Whoever we’re with…

Whatever we do…

May it be for Him alone!

“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” - Colossians 3:16-17 (BSB)
