We all face storms in life. All very different. And yet at times in history, globally, we collectively journey through the same storm - knocked around by the waves to different degrees and each losing track of the horizon for varying periods of time. Some days I think it’s best to begin by reminding ourselves that God is still God.
“Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” – Hebrews 13:8
Maybe we need the reminder that not only is God still God, and Jesus the same from the beginning of time through all eternity. But also, that we’re not alone…because storms can feel very lonely and isolating.
Jesus said, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:20
He hasn’t forgotten this promise.
Don’t let yourself forget it.
Hold tightly to it.
Keep your eyes on Him.
Let His peace seep into the fear and doubt.
Inhale this Truth.
Exhale your worries.
Responsive Prayer:
“Lord, at times the storms of life seem unbearable. Thank you that You’re in control. Thank you that You’re here with me. I repent, Lord, for the times I’ve taken my eyes off of You and focused on the storm instead. Holy Spirit keep my eyes focused on Truth and Love. I declare again today that You are my God. The unchanging God who has not forgotten me. I trust You Lord. I give You this storm that I’m in and I trust You that You’ll bring me through it, even when I can’t see through it. In Jesus’ name, Amen!”
