“The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display His craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make Him known.
They speak without a sound or word;
their voice is never heard.
Yet their message has gone throughout the earth,
and their words to all the world.” – Psalm 19:1-4
We’ve had gorgeous weather lately and walking with the sun shining on my face brings me so much joy. With the transformation of one season into the next, I am filled with excitement. This year though, the transition from Winter to Spring after a long hard year somehow means something more tender and beautiful to my heart. I want to drink the hope of it all in.
God marks the times and seasons and works in incredible ways that we often don’t see amidst the process. Some seasons seem to last forever, echoing further in time than our calendars like to detail. Sometimes our souls linger in season that feels like it’s impossible to escape from, but God never leaves us without hope. A time of sowing brings forth a season of harvest, in the same way that the dark, cold winter brings a death to many things, that’s needed in order to bring the fresh life found in Spring. When the deep blankets of pure white snow begin to melt and the warmth of the sun cascades through to warm the air… it’s in these in-between seasons that I see creation reflect abundant hope. The transition of this season is reviving my heart - remembering that God promises to make all things new. (ref. Isaiah 43:19)
Creation is constantly displaying God’s glory, power, and love to us. Whether it’s rain or shine, snow or sleet, His masterpiece is all around us. Today, let’s take notice and reflect on God’s magnificent creation, the intricately planned and purposed handiwork that never stops revealing Himself to us.
