Reconnection Point

It’s so easy to be consumed with life’s demands – work, family, and the endless loads of laundry! It’s often in the busyness that we can feel a disconnect from our closeness to God. So, what brings you back to that reconnection point?

Gratitude is something that helps bring back into perspective the loving God that we serve. It’s in the recounting of how He’s provided over and over again for me. In how He’s picked up the broken pieces and strengthened me. How He’s reaffirmed His faithfulness and reminded me that I’m not forgotten. It’s in remembrance of those times that my heart is full of praise for Him – and I put to words how much I need Him, and desire Him in all aspects of life.

Worship songs draw me closer. There is power in our words, so when we use our words to sing songs of praise that describe the might and awesomeness of our God, it’s declaring our belief in Him. Even in times of doubt or uncertainty, if we sing out words of praise to Him, it’s decreeing in faith the wonder of our God.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out!” - Psalm 107:1-2

God never intended for us to journey through life alone. The gift of His Spirit in us is evidence of His desire to be in close communion with us individually. He desires intimate conversation and friendship, to have harmony and a sense of togetherness with us, as we seek His will for our lives.

Some days are just easier than others to make time or determine to have that time alone with God. But it is always worth the quest for time alone with Him and seeking that reconnection point to know He’s been right there with you all along.

What do you do when you feel distance between you and God? What’s your go-to for reconnecting with Him?
