Recall

How good are you at recalling what’s happened? What you’ve been through? The moments that have impacted your life the most?

Some people are naturally more detail oriented or have excellent memories. Some can describe all manner of detail about expressions, the atmosphere and every feeling associated with a memory. Somehow though, when it comes to what’s impacted us most, we tend to remember those times more vividly even if we’re not normally one who remembers all the details.

I’m really seeing lately how recalling what God’s done for us specifically – the details of the what, when, where, and how – are a great way to worship Him!

“I will remember the deeds of the Lord;

yes, I will remember your wonders of old.

I will ponder all your work,

and meditate on your mighty deeds.

Your way, O God, is holy.

What god is great like our God?

You are the God who works wonders;

You have made known your might among people.” – Psalm 77:11-14 (ESV)

Do you see the evidence of God’s love and goodness in your life? Do you see the promises fulfilled? Do you see the victory that He brought to you? Do you see the impossible that’s been made possible?

Recall. Recall. Recall.

From the moment of Salvation, and as many details since.

Recall how the love of Jesus has changed you.

Recall the moments when the Holy Spirit directed you.

Recall when His strength showed up in your weakness.

Recall the provision that came when all else seemed bleak.

Recall when the Light shone so bright that it led you out of the darkness unharmed.

Let’s worship Him today by recalling the big and small, the complex and mundane ways that God is intricately woven in and through our lives!
