Progress over Pace

Do you ever wish you could just fast-forward and get to the achievement that you’re striving for? Get past the long and drawn-out time between where you began working at something and the point where you can finally exhale with relief that you achieved it.

Have you noticed that sometimes progress looks like baby steps? Maybe at times it looks more like falling forward, only to fall backwards and wonder “Why am I doing this?”

What I know to be true, is that if God has birthed a dream in your heart, it is not in vain. It may not be easy to get to. It may not come without a mound of sweat and lots of tears. It may not come to fruition until we let go of other things, even good things, in order to make it our main focus. We may not see any progress in the natural realm, as God works in us, calling us to surrender every single detail we often try so hard to control. But as we relinquish our timing, our plans, and place all our trust in Him, He’s doing something miraculous in us… He’s making us more like Jesus. Equipping us with the character and strength to lean on Him in all circumstances and to depend on Him to lead us and carry us through it all.

What God says will happen, will happen!

May we truly trust Him with the desires and passions He’s placed in us. May we appreciate the progress that we’ve made in our time and wrestle with God. May we find beauty in our full surrender, yielding to His ways and plans. May we prize progress over pace, knowing that we can do all things through Him Who gives us supernatural strength to keep going.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
