Out of Love

As we anticipate the celebration of Christ’s birth this Christmas season, let us prepare our hearts for the purpose of His coming. His life was destined for death, resurrection and victory.

The Lamb of God.

Born in the lowliest of circumstances - to a virgin mother. In a little town called Bethlehem. On the downslope of a small hill, Jesus breathed His first breath in human form, in a cave chiselled-out by wind and rain – a place where animals took shelter from the elements. The swaddled baby born to be slain.

“the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world.” – Revelation 13:8

Hope for humanity existed before any form of life was spoken into existence. The Godhead knew we would be a people in need of a Saviour. Out of God’s love for us, His plan was always to send of Himself – His Son Jesus, fully God and fully man – to be the sacrifice for the sin that we would let separate us from our Creator. We weren’t left to figure it out on our own – hope was built into our DNA before God breathed our lives into existence. All humanity - souls - longing to know their Maker.

“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through Him you believe in God, who raise Him from the dead and glorified Him, and so your faith and hope are in God.” – 1 Peter 1:18-21

The Lamb of God who would take away the sins of the world.

A life lived in order to reveal the Father and forever repair our relationship with Him. His precious blood, shed - for the payment of our sins. His life raised to new life so that we too may truly live.

This Gift of Love came with great sacrifice. For you. For me. All out of love.
