Never Changing

“Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.” – James 1:17

In a world so full of chaos, uncertainty, and things constantly shifting– how amazing is it that our God never changes?

Often, unless we’re in control of the change, change can feel threatening, or leave us in the grip of fear. And although change can be good, and is necessary for growth, it often comes with all manner of emotions rising up in us, longing for something steady that we can hold on to.

God spoke through the prophet Malachi, saying “I am the LORD, and I do not change.” (Malachi 3:6). While His ways may change, He Himself will not. He is always the constant that we can cling to, that tethers us through the storms of life. He will never be less than He is now, or has ever been… in the same way, as time goes on, He will never be more – He just simply is.

He is the ultimate good and perfect gift that doesn’t expire or change!

Thank you, Lord, that You never change…

You are my constant.

Throughout every generation, You are home to whoever calls You by name.

Praise You God!

Before You gave birth to the earth, and for the length of all eternity You are God.

No one compares!

Help me to never forget that when all else changes, or falls away, that You are my anchor that holds me.

Draw me close and thank you for never letting go.

In Jesus’ name, Amen!
