Let's say Amen

“For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.

It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.” – 2 Corinthians 1:20-22 (NLT)

There are thousands upon thousands of promises written in The Bible, made from God to His children. Like, over 7,000! Doesn’t that kind of just blow your mind a little? Not only is God not silent, He speaks personally to us – through His Word and His Spirit. And it would appear that He likes to make promises to His dearly loved creation!

If you’ve been jaded by someone who has made promises to you, but they didn’t fulfill what they said they would do, I get that hearing that God has made so many promises to us may not seem very comforting. But God is not a man that He should lie. (ref. Number 23:19). He is trustworthy and will fulfill all that He said would happen. Not only did He send Jesus as He said He would, but He also sent His Spirit to reside in us. Because He’s proven that what He says will come to be, let’s be women who take His promises seriously.

When He says He ‘will never leave us or forsake us’,

let’s say amen. (ref. Hebrews 13:5)

When He says ‘nothing will ever separate us from His love’,

let’s say amen. (ref. Romans 8:38-39)

When He says He ‘will teach us and guide us in the way we should go’,

let’s say amen. (ref. Psalm 32:14)

When He says He’s ‘given us a Spirit of love, power and a sound mind’,

let’s say amen. (ref. 2 Timothy 1:7)

When He says that He ‘will be our strength when we’re weak’,

let’s say amen (ref. 2 Corinthians 12:9)

When He says He ‘will redeem all things for His good’,

let’s say amen. (ref. Romans 8:28)

Since our God is faithful and His words are true, may our lives reflect our agreement with all that He has promised to us. Let’s say Amen!
