“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
Followers of Jesus have always had to face hardships. Until Jesus returns to earth for the second time, where He will once and for all deal with satan and all evil, we will continue to face many forms of opposition, illness, heartache, and even death. In the midst of dealing with such pain, we can often doubt where God is at in our circumstance. But these above verses are so comforting and give us such a great reminder that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.
Nothing…. How amazing is that promise?
Christ’s death and resurrection are proof of His unconquerable love for us.
His inseparable love will never leave us floundering without hope in our pain.
His love will protect us and ground us in any and all circumstances.
We don’t ever need to let fear hinder us from believing that God’s love will carry us through anything… even if that means walking through the valley of the shadow of death. (ref. Psalm 23)
I can’t help but think, as we enter another ‘stay-at-home order’, because of the current pandemic we find ourselves in, that we all may need to be reminded of the promises that God’s Word tells us. Our security isn’t found in a pandemic-free world, or a human-made remedy for the fear that we’re facing… our security is found in God’s love alone. He holds the future, and all our hope lies within the promises of His presence, His word, and His love for us. Nothing can ever separate us from our God. Don’t let go of the hope we have in Him. And let’s all be spreading this hope that we have with others who are dealing with such pain and fear. Christ’s love is for everyone!
