Do you have a go-to verse for your life? A life verse?
This is one of my favourites…
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” – Romans 8:28
It reminds me to recount in my life where God’s shown up in big ways in the past, and where He has brought beautiful redemption out of areas I thought were a total loss.
This verse speaks to me of hope.
Did you notice that it says “all things” and not “some things”?
We can cling to the hope that ALL things can work together for good. That doesn’t mean all things are good… but God can work them together for His good.
This verse brings peace to my heart.
Because regardless of what we’re going through… I know God is bigger than my circumstance, my feelings, and my opinions. There’s peace knowing I’m loved by a mighty God who brings beauty from ashes. Who can restore and redeem. Who has conquered evil with Christ’s death on the cross, and through the powerful work of the Prince of Peace and the presence of the Holy Spirit, His peace can reign inside me.
This verse reminds me of my purpose.
Every person has been created to know the love and glory of the Divine. And for every follower of Jesus, we’re on a mission! Commissioned for a purpose – to bring glory to our Father in Heaven by sharing the good news of Jesus to the world. Since it’s all about Him, and not about me, how and when and where He works the things in my life together for good, are all up to Him. The details are His to own. My heart is His to have.
“Here’s my life Lord. Take it and use it for Your purpose. I trust You. I love You. While I don’t always understand Your ways, I have lived through the beautiful transition of You bringing beauty from ashes…and I know You can do it again. Your ways are not my ways. I submit to Your handiwork and trust that You’ll refine, purify, and use for Your glory the details of my life.
Thank You for the Hope, Peace, and Purpose that I have in You.”
