Hope and Joy

“Let this hope burst forth within you, releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times.” – Romans 12:12 (TPT)

Hope and Joy walk beautifully hand in hand!

As followers of Jesus, we get to hold the posture of having confident hope. It’s one we choose over and over again. A hope that fuels us day-by-day, as we have relationship with Jesus, and partner with Him through His Word and His Spirit. This hope is the reason we have to rejoice. Our joy begins with the promise of Salvation and is always available to us. Joy isn’t dependant on our feelings or circumstances but has the powerful ability to co-exist with them, since Joy is dependent on the One who can bring us through any rollercoaster of emotions or any hardship that we might face.

As we continue to keep placing our hope in Jesus, surrendering to the leading of the Holy Spirit and the plans and purposes of God, fresh joy is released over us. A joy that dances with hope, helping us to wait patiently on God through the trials and troubles of life, and draws us to cling to Him at all times, regardless of what our day may hold. Jesus is the hope and joy that bursts forth from within us. No devil in hell, or scheme of man could ever snatch them from us, for hope and joy are the markings of those who are part of the Kingdom of God.

Where have you experienced joy lately?

How has the hope you have allowed you to see your circumstances with a different perspective?

Lord, let hope burst forth in us! May we be women who are confident in who we are because we’ve been saved by grace. Give us eyes to see the joy that we have in You, and cling to the hope of Your plans and promises that You have for each one of us. May we remain steadfast in Your love, knowing that no one can steal our hope and joy away from us. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
