His Tribe

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:23-25 (NKJV)

There is something so joyful about coming together with other Believers who desire more than anything to serve God with their whole heart. Being unified in faith is incomparable to any other earthly relationship. Yes – we’re all flawed by sin, and sometimes it’s a challenge with different personalities, but the communion that is available to those in Christ is beautiful and honouring unto Him.

Do you have those around you who stir you up in love?

Stir you up to doing good?

Not how the world loves or defines it to be. Not how the world defines or desires to receive goodness either. But how God calls us to love. Love aligned with Truth, aligned with Grace and Hope, filled with Joy that can only be found in Jesus. Good, that reflects the love that we’ve been given. Good that points others to Him.

We need others in our life who are going challenge us to grow deeper in our walk with God, surrendering to His love and His ways. We can’t do it alone. So many try – especially when they’re walking through a challenging time where their faith is being tested to trust God. The enemy wants us to be secluded, because if he can convince us that we’re in this alone or that no one else around us will understand our struggle, then we will miss out on the encouragement and the sharpening that can only come in the presence of God and His people.

You may have heard the phrase “find your tribe”, but as Christ-followers we need to “find His tribe!” A tribe of Believers who are Spirit-filled and Spirit-led and stand on the Holy Word of God. It is the Church’s continual declaration of the hope we have in Jesus that stirs each other up. The testimony of His goodness in our lives is what challenges us to do the same…. and to not give up, especially in the wake of trying times.

So let’s allow the Holy Spirit to lead us to His Tribe, to be committed to seek Him daily, and commune with those who can stir us up in His love.
