Here I am

The voice of the Lord came to Isaiah saying, “Whom should I send as a messenger to the people? Who will go for us?” (Isaiah 6:8)

So often I want the details all planned out. I like them to be aligned and know where I’m going, know what’s coming down the road, and plan out all the different ways that I can fix any hiccups on the journey. I just like plans like that! Can anyone else relate?

Honestly, I think sometimes God probably gets a good laugh looking at me, when over and over I constantly have to be reminded that He’s the One Who put this world in motion and created me and set the plan for my life long before I even breathed my first breath.

“Do you trust me?”

“Will you go where I tell you to go without having the map in hand?”

“Even if I just give you instructions for your next step – without telling you the end destination?”

Scripture doesn’t indicate that there was any hesitation in Isaiah’s response:

“Here I am. Send me.”

I want this to always be my first response, when God is asking something of me. Not to go kicking and screaming. But to live in constant surrender to His will.

“Here I am. Send me.”

Sisters, God has called each of us to great purpose. As we listen to the Spirit’s leading, we will regularly be asked to do / say things that we wouldn’t likely choose in our flesh to do. Living aligned with God’s best for our lives, will mean He’ll ask us to trust Him even when we don’t know all the details. It is my prayer, that we would without hesitation respond, “Here I am. Send me.”

Prayer Prompt:

“Father, change my heart to trust You, even when it doesn’t make sense to me. Give me a burning desire to listen and obey all that You ask of me. Strengthen me Lord, when the enemy tries to distract me from following Your plans. Give me courage when I feel weak and ill-equipped, knowing that I have all I need through the Holy Spirit to walk me through it. Here I am Lord, send me.”

A great reminder. I tend to have at least an outline of my schedule planned for each day and its so easy to get caught up in the busyness of a day and forget that God has a "the plan" for my day, but will I listen?
