Heavenly Confidence

It’s weird almost to think of living in peace, amongst the ever-growing turmoil of the world around us. Yet God promises us true, soul-deep, unshakeable confidence that we can have in Him - that doesn’t spoil, fade, or diminish in any way.

We can have confidence in Him that He is the giver of peace, the holder of our hope, and the provider of all things good. There’s no façade to it, it’s genuine. What He has to offer through His Spirit in us, is a stand-strong-no-matter-what confidence, that He will provide us with what He said He would.

“I remain confident of this:

I will see the goodness of the Lord

in the land of the living.

Wait for the Lord;

be strong and take heart

and wait for the Lord.” – Psalm 27:13-14

When we follow Jesus and choose to live by His Spirit, He calls us to hold nothing back. We’re to trust Him with everything – with all of us. A leave-nothing-behind type of surrender. I believe that when we truly desire with all our heart to live for Him, is when we see a shift in our faith – a Heavenly confidence where we seek things of God over our own desires. Where we see God moving when the world is wrapped up in chaos. Where we trust Him more than we ever have before, and His presence in our lives allows us to experience peace, strength, goodness, and so much more.

It’s where we take great joy in praying:

“Your kingdom come,

Your will be done,

On earth as it is in Heaven.” – Matthew 6:10

And then we wait with anticipation, and with complete confidence, because we know He’s on the move. We know He’s at work, and we wait with expectation that we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
