“Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.
He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,
for through Him God created everything
in the heavenly realms and on earth.
He made the things we can see
And the things we can’t see –
Such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
Everything was created through Him and for Him.
He existed before anything else,
And He holds all creation together.” – Colossians 1:15-17
What an amazing and mighty God we have the privilege of serving! The intricacy and supremacy of Who He is fascinates me. We could spend our whole lives seeking Him, knowing Him, and still He will surprise us with the elaborateness of His ways and how He’s intertwined Himself throughout our individual lives. He’s just that good – ever-present, compassionate, and loving!
There’s no one too far gone that He won’t reach out to show His never-ending love to them. There’s no problem too big that He can’t solve or redeem. No heart He can’t mend, no memory He can’t heal, and no relationship He can’t fix. He sets captives free. He breaks curses, and cures diseases. He sees the lonely, feeds the hungry, and clothes the naked. There is nothing He can’t do!
God is near, even if He may feel distant to us at times. He is intricately woven through all of creation and knows His creation intimately. He literally holds all creation together and has plans for each and every one of us.
Aren’t you so glad about that?
Let’s start our day by just praising Him for being in control - for holding us in the palm of His hand. Let’s trust Him when we can’t see through the fog of our circumstance because we know that He holds all things together – things in Heaven, things on Earth - and cares deeply for each of His beloved creations.
