When’s the last time you took notice of something being good? Has it been awhile? Or has your focus been slanted towards all that’s not going right in the world?
Have you paid attention to where you can see God’s goodness?
Psalm 27:13 says, “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.”
Sometimes it means we have to be relentless in choosing to see it… to be stubborn enough that we won’t rest until we recognize it.
There will always be drama in our world - wars and various degrees of trouble for our minds to be focused on. But rest assured, there will always be the goodness of the LORD in our midst. As long as the Spirit of God remains in us, we should be able to see His goodness around us. Even creation points us to Him!
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the Heavenly lights.” - James 1:17
Let’s not let today pass us by without recounting back to God, the goodness that we’ve seen throughout our day. Let’s take a step back from the busyness and mundane and let’s determine to find something unexpected and beautiful. Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to show us something just for us… something that causes our perspective to shift towards God’s goodness.
And if it means we physically need to make a change so that we can spiritually see, then let’s determine to do that today. Maybe it’s going for a walk. Maybe for a drive. Maybe it’s sitting quietly on our bathroom floor while all other distractions are on the other side of a locked door. Whatever we physically have to do, let’s do it. Whoever has eyes to see, let them see!
