God Makes a Way

When Peter and the other apostles were preaching the gospel message and healing and performing miracles in the name of Jesus, crowds swarmed them. The high priest and his officials were filled with jealousy, so they arrested the apostles and threw them in jail.

Isn’t it crazy to think of what extremes people will go to because they’re jealous?

God had a different plan than leaving the apostles sitting in jail. So, He sent an angel of the Lord to come during the night and open the gates of the jail, instructing them to go to the Temple and continue preaching the Good News. Later on, when they were found and confronted by the high priest, Peter and the apostles told him, “We must obey God rather than any human authority.” – Acts 5:29

Following what God has called us to do will require great courage and strength. We will have people who won’t agree with us. Others who will be jealous and spread untruth about us. We will be faced with the struggle of whether we’ll settle for the acceptance of people or the acceptance of God.

When God has called us to do something, and we follow His instructions, He’ll take care of any opposition that may arise. The Christian life was never promised to be without battles. Quite the opposite actually. Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (ref. John 16:33)

If we’re in tune with the Holy Spirit, and following the Words of God, He will make a way for us, regardless of what other voices say. Regardless if we don’t have the provisions to make it happen. Regardless if we’re the only one who is headed in that direction. If God has called us to it, He’ll make the way for us, and be with us every single step!
