Freedom in Transformation

“Whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord – who is the Spirit – makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.”

– 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 (NLT)

Freedom is waiting on the doorstep for everyone – entering in, to those who turn to surrender to Jesus – claiming Him as Saviour and Lord of their life. Freedom in Christ has a very different meaning than the world knows freedom to be. It’s not a ‘do whatever you want’ type of freedom, it’s a ‘live in Love’ freedom, ‘live under Grace’ freedom, live in hope, purpose, worth, and beauty freedom. Freedom in Christ is the breakthrough from all our internal prisons…prisons that have had us locked-up for some time and are schemes of the enemy. Freedom in Jesus unlocks all the chains that have shackled our mind, will, and emotions, and it allows us to walk confidently from the captivity of sin.

While Salvation happens in a moment, freedom often doesn’t happen that quick. Over time, as we choose daily to not live for ourselves but for the One who created us, freedom further takes root. Freedom is part of the transformation process that the Holy Spirit is consistently calling us to, to live more in the likeness of Jesus.

Freedom requires us to stay committed to the process…as God prepares us for our purpose here on earth. He is limited from working through us if we keep living how we always have, not surrendering to His ways for our life. But thankfully there’s not a day that passes by that God can’t use for His good. We’re never too far gone for Him to restore, redeem, and to bring freedom to our lives. If you’re at a point where you still feel shackled and locked up, allow me to encourage you to keep trusting the Holy Spirit and trust that He is still at work in you. I believe that many of us are sitting in prison cells, with our chains unlocked and the door wide open, but we’re listening to the lies of the enemy and allowing him to paralyze us from walking out of the prison cell. We can become so accustomed to the schemes and lies of the enemy that we settle to believe that freedom isn’t for us. Sweet friend, Jesus paid for your complete freedom on the cross – He didn’t skip you. Freedom is available for us to take hold of today!

Let’s determine to allow God to have His way in us. In every part of us. To trust Him to lead us to abundant living in Him. True, pure, freedom that can only be found in Him, through His Spirit’s leading and direction for our lives. Let’s be the women He’s called us to be! Women who seek Him with our whole heart; surrendering our mind, will, and emotions to Him and allowing Him to lead us to freedom as He transforms us into the image of Christ. Let’s reflect the glory of God today!
