“Discover creative ways to encourage others and to motivate them toward acts of compassion, doing beautiful works as expressions of love. This is not the time to pull away and neglect meeting together, as some have formed the habit of doing. In fact, we should come together even more frequently, eager to encourage and urge each other onward as we anticipate that day dawning.” – Hebrews 10:24-25 (TPT)
It’s always interesting to me how a kind word, or a small expression of thoughtfulness can change your day. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, expensive, or showy in any way. It’s those small deeds that really go a long way in encouraging one another. That’s the power of love!
Through the power of the Holy Spirit changing us, we’re able to look past our own selfishness and notice the beauty of Christ in others. When we have eyes to see people in the light and glory of those made in His image, our perspective changes. We desire to be with other Believers. To learn from them. Worship together with them. Be encouraged by them, and to hopefully be motivated to return love in the same way towards them. In this beautiful plan of Jesus’, this is how the Church unites together in a wonderful way to draw closer to Him, as we learn to love each other in a way that reflects how He has loved us.
Wouldn’t it be great if the world actually knew that we belonged to Christ because of our love for one another?
May we be women who listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit, following His whispers that guide us to speak out words of encouragement to our sisters and brothers in Christ. May we look to always encourage one another to not give up, to keep fighting this life of faith, and to pray for one another. May we work hard at expressing our love, through random acts of kindness, and through sweet thought-out moments.
Let’s stir one another up to love and good works, so that we remain faithful to Christ and His Church. We need each other!
Who can you show love to today?
