“ “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember when he told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day.” Then they remembered that he had said this.” – Luke 24:5b-8
God’s power was underscored with the empty grave and the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. His power was showcased beforehand with spoken words… only, His disciples and followers at the time, just didn’t realize the power they held.
What God speaks, will happen. From the beginning of creation until the end of time, the weight of His words never has, and never will, lose power. What He says will happen, will come to pass in His timing, in the ways He says it will happen, fulfilling all of the intricate details in both the natural realm and spiritual realm. He is above all things, and in Him all things hold together, and while everything in the natural will eventually pass away, His Word never will. (ref. Colossians 1:17 & Matthew 24:35).
The empty grave is a constant reminder to all followers of Jesus that His Word is true. It’s trustworthy. God is faithful to complete it and all His promises will come to pass. We can cling to this: what God births in us will never be bound to death but will live abundantly as we follow His Spirit.
May we be women, who live in the revelation of the power of the Word of God. May we live in the confidence of His resurrection power! May we have the faith to believe all giants will fall, when we stand on His Truth, and don’t fall to the demands and persuasion of the world around us. May we never add or remove anything from His Truth – and may it be by His Truth that we live day by day – with each breath we take, may our lives be grounded in the Truth of His Word, and the Power of His Spirit.
