One of my favourite passages of Scripture is where David proclaims how God made the delicate inner parts of our bodies. The intricacies of each one of us. The marvelous workmanship of the very essence of humanity.
“For you created my inmost being;
You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
When I was made in the secret place,
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
All the days ordained for me were written in your book
Before one of them came to be.” - Psalm 139:13-16
As followers of Jesus, our very identity is wrapped up in our creation and purpose – both rooted in Christ. We were created with intentionality – having the undivided attention of a loving Father who makes no mistakes in His chosen creation. We were created for purpose – an intentional plan that was thought-through before even a single breath of ours came to be.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” -Ephesians 2:10
Today, let’s affirm our identity in Him, as we start out our day.
Intentionally planned.
Intimately created.
Purposely chosen.
