“Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge Him.
As surely as the sun rises, He will appear;
He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”
– Hosea 6:3
So many in the last while have been struggling with yet another stay-at-home order and are frustrated with the state of the circumstance we find ourselves in. Please hear me, I completely understand and acknowledge the discouragement. But I’ve also been reminded the last couple mornings, as I open the curtains of our front room, of the hope that accompanies each new sunrise.
Each morning, with the promise of the rising sun, is a reminder of the hope that we have in Jesus. That He will one day return and blot out all darkness once and for all. But more than that, each new sunrise is a reminder than He is present with us. Wherever we go, He is there. He doesn’t hide from us, but invites us to be replenished by His presence, love, and Truth. He speaks to us through His Spirit and Word. Darkness can never dispel His Light from shining, and from His promise to wake us up again.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” – John 1:5 (NLT)
We always have hope in Jesus. His light allows us to be grateful in circumstances that are hard. His light brings comfort in the darkness. Hope in the midst of the unknown. Lighting our paths as we trust Him through the uncharted details of what’s next. It’s His light that clears the clouded vision.
May today be a reminder, that as surely as the sun rises each day, our God is Faithful to be present with us, to love us where we’re at, and to lead us into the best that He has planned for us.
