“It is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” – Hebrews 11:6
How are you doing at pleasing God with your faith?
I used to view this statement as we simply needed to believe that Jesus is Who He says He is – that He died and rose again as the payment of our sins. While that is truth and where our faith begins, I’m viewing this statement a little different these days…
Hebrews 11, known as the faith chapter, is filled with the recounting of people who didn’t just believe that God was Who He said He was, but lived with active faith in their journey with God.
How am I currently living by faith? Not based off of what Jesus already did for me, but what He is He currently doing on my behalf? What areas am I exercising the faith of today, and not just the faith of yesterday?
We strengthen our spiritual muscles of faith as we step out not knowing the outcome … but trusting God to lead us through. Our faith is only limited by our capacity to believe. And if our God is a “God who will do exceedingly abundantly more than I can think or imagine” (ref. Ephesians 3:20) then I want to be one who presents my big dreams, desires, and passions before Him in faith. Praying and believing that all that is in line with His will, will indeed come to fruition.
“I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard see, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” – Matthew 17:20
So, what are you asking in faith? How are you living with active faith? And where are you believing God will show up and move mountains?
