“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous – how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
Before a single day had passed.” – Psalm 139:13-16 (NLT)
It is important to know who we are… and believe it! The psalmist talked about God knowing us even before we were born. He knows the sum of our days, the number of hairs on our head, and all the details in between that intricately characterize and describe us. He knows our heart, our most secret thoughts, and all the ways that we view ourselves. He made us in His image, we are His creation, and His word speaks directly to who exactly He sees us to be. May we believe the words that He is speaking over us.
