Closed doors usually stop us in our tracks. When an opportunity or a possibility comes to a seemingly abrupt end, we can feel defeated and like we’ve failed. It’s something the enemy of our souls takes great pleasure in doing - making us question our journey and ask where God is in the midst of it all. Satan will use any tactic to tear us down. And when he can close a door that causes us to feel doubt and uncertainty - unsure of where to plant our next step - I can’t help but think that he thinks he’s won. But as Christ-followers, we know that satan has to yield to the authority of God, even to close a door.
Closed doors give God an opportunity to open new ones.
In His timing.
For His purpose.
And our best interest.
God loves to open! I think it’s the creative side of Him that opens up new pathways, opens new adventures, opens new ideas. He’s not limited by the closed doors that we see.
Where do you see a closed door in your life?
Has it caused you to stop believing somehow? Have you set a dream aside because of it? Have you settled for less-than because you feel the door is no longer open for you to walk through?
While I know that His ways are higher than our ways, He sees the end from the beginning and all the details in between. And I know that when we come to Him with our requests, we don’t always get a ‘yes’ …. But I do know that our God still opens…
