Merry Christmas!

I hope today is a day filled with personal reflection, an out-pouring of love, and the Presence of peace and joy because Jesus was born with each of us in mind. He came for you! For me… and all of humanity.

This Christmas many of us are faced with celebrating very differently from what we would deem as “normal”. We will find ourselves at home, when we may normally be out. And because of this, the words of Jesus keep coming to my mind. When Christ is preparing His disciples for what is to come… He says that for those that believe, He will come and make a home in them.

“Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” – John 14:23

Jesus was talking about home being our sanctuary. Not the brick and mortar we live in, but the home of His Presence being in us. He was talking about the Spirit of the Living God dwelling in us. That home is not a place… it’s a Person.

God is our Home. He is our refuge. Our Strength. He is our promise of safety - a haven amongst the chaos of the world. We take home with us wherever we go… in whatever season we find ourselves in.

Whether this Christmas we find ourselves celebrating in simplistic ways or extravagantly… Jesus is the why behind every reason we have to celebrate at all. May His presence be the present we are most thankful for and the one that we hold most tightly too. May His presence be a bubbling spring of joy that carries us forward with fresh hope, peace, and abundant love. Let’s celebrate being home with Him today! Merry Christmas!

***Weekday devotionals will resume Monday, January 4th, 2021. Thank you for leaning-in this Advent season as we prepared our hearts for celebrating the birth of our Saviour. See you in the New Year! – Lots of Love, Leah
