New

Labour Day has always felt to me like another New Year’s Eve celebration. The last hoorays of summer break before the kick-off of another school year.

As the calendar tells us the summer is done, Labour Day seems to be the turning point to getting back into regular routines and new beginnings that usher us into the Fall season.

It’s also a great time to reflect. Savouring what has been by pondering over warm memories. We smile fondly over good things we were able to experience, and we reminisce over how far we’ve come. And with great anticipation we are reminded that a new season is upon us.

“The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!” – Lamentations 3:22-24

Are you sensing a shift in your life that God is preparing you for what’s to come?

You’re not alone.

Let’s praise Him for His faithfulness! He never leads us astray. He never leads us to where He hasn’t gone before. He’s with us in the transition. And what He creates is beautiful.

So, as Summer fades into Fall, let’s praise God for the beauty of a new day. For all the newness and renewal that is wrapped up in being one of His children. And every “new” we are about to transition into is worth committing to Him:

a New day.

a New season.

a New opportunity.

a New growth.

a New mercy.

a New stretching.

a New balance.

a New hope.

The same great God Who is our inheritance, goes before us into all things new, and often in that, leads us to abundant life!

If the “new” brings you anxiety and fear, speak honestly with your Father…seeking to trust Him like never before. And also, share these feelings with your people…who also will walk with you into the “new” and uphold you in prayer.

May you be filled with awe, wonder, and excitement at the thought of God’s plans for you!
